Setup Java on the Macintosh

1. Download the installer (8.5 Mb; .bin version, 6.2 Mb).
2. After downloading, open the ESCOT_Java_Setup folder and run each of the installers in order (the Install Plugin installer is required only if you use Netscape Communicator).
3. The Install Java installer may ask you if you want to install a newer version of MRJ. Answer Yes.
4. For the second installer (Install Resources), choose your language and click OK. Keep the default install folder and click Install. This will install the Swing toolkit which is necessary to run ESCOT applets. Click Done to complete the setup.
5. When you are done, exit and restart your browser, and visit the test page again (you may want to bookmark the page for easy reference).
